Judith Lee Kelly March 4, 1944 to April 28, 2021 | 5/23/2021 Eden Memorial Park 1pm PT

Judith Lee Evans was born on March 4, 1944 in Altoona, Pennsylvania to Abraham Isaac Evans and Esther Sarah Evans (Glesser). She is a second generation American as both set of her grandparents migrated over from Russia and Eastern Europe. Judy and her parents followed the Glesser family to Los Angeles when she was 5, where her life really started to blossom. At the age of 15, she met her first and only love, Alan Robert Kelly. They married February 15th, 1964 and ultimately moved to Northridge, CA, where they lived for 35 years. They had their first child, Sean Monte Kelly on June 4th, 1971, followed by Staci Monique Kelly on June 9th, 1974. Judy was an amazing wife and homemaker who also juggled various jobs and careers, from being a legal secretary to running for Los Angeles School Board to graduating from California State University of Northridge in 1990, where she got her Bachelor of Science Degree at the ripe age of 46. She then became an interior designer, along with opening an antiques and collectibles store in Pine Mountain, CA, where they owned a cabin that they loyally visited every weekend. Judy and Alan loved traveling the world and going on countless cruises. She always enjoyed life to the fullest! In 2000, Sean married Dawn Dolan, then a year later, Staci married Paul DePatie. Alan & Judy retired and moved to Bakersfield to live on a golf course to play nearly every day. Judy adored sports so much and was a devout Dodgers fan and golf fanatic, excelled at billiards, bowling, poker, and successfully ran 5 marathons! In 2003, she became a grandmother to Ian Kelly, followed by Alexander DePatie in 2006, Reese Kelly in 2007, and Nicholas DePatie in 2010. She lived for being a grandmother and always wanted her own sports team. Having four grandchildren who were all boys, she definitely ended up with what she had hoped for. She loved her family so much! Unfortunately, in 2015, she got diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease, but we knew a few years prior to that, she showed signs, just like her parents. She was a strong woman, and fought long and hard, always with a smile on her face. But ultimately, Judy passed away peacefully on April 28, 2021. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 57 years, children, grandchildren, family, and friends as Judy continues to be a light in our hearts.
